Manatees/Sunset/Bioluminescence Tour

Overview
Experience everything the wildlife refuge has to offer with three distinct experiences packed into one three-hour tour! Launch your kayak in the daylight and surround yourself with Florida’s most-loved endangered species, West Indian Manatees! Sit back while the gentle giants roll, sniff, and nuzzle all around you. Dolphins are also active this time of day as they wrangle their dinner in the adjacent cove.

Next, head out to Bird Island, a federally protected rookery, to watch hundreds of birds soar in overhead. Ibis, herons, egrets, pelicans, cormorants, and roseate spoonbills and more all glide in their flocks to nest for the night. Be lulled into serenity by the gently rocking kayak as the sun descends for the night in the pinks, oranges, and reds of sunset.

Finally, the tour culminates in the season’s bioluminescent experience, whether it be summer bioluminescence, winter comb jelly bioluminescence, or a star-studded moonlit sky.

We did the Mondo Tour yesterday as a family of 4. Two kids, aged 11 and 9. All we can say is- DO IT! We did the 3 hour tour that included a visit with at least a dozen manatees, a tour through mangroves, seeing dolphins, and incredible sunset view, and experiencing the unforgettable bioluminescence. Amanda was incredible guide. She was knowledgeable and great with adults and kids alike. The best 75$/ person you could spend for an excursion. You should be prepared to paddle- but every stop was worth it. Even my wife and son taking part in a Manatee rodeo: iykyk. Seeing the dolphins swim and glow through the water was unreal. Watching the fish jump and dart was epic. Thanks again!

This was a great tour. Amanda was super knowledgeable and personable. We saw lots of manatees and the bioluminescent plankton was phenomenal to see.

This was on of the best parts of our family vacation! We saw dolphins, manatees, a beautiful sunset and were amazed by the bioluminescence. Chaz and Amanda were excellent guides and very knowledgeable. Try to go during a new moon and wear bug repellent!
