Manatees/Sunset/Bioluminescence Tour

Overview
Experience everything the wildlife refuge has to offer with three distinct experiences packed into one three-hour tour! Launch your kayak in the daylight and surround yourself with Florida’s most-loved endangered species, West Indian Manatees! Sit back while the gentle giants roll, sniff, and nuzzle all around you. Dolphins are also active this time of day as they wrangle their dinner in the adjacent cove.

Next, head out to Bird Island, a federally protected rookery, to watch hundreds of birds soar in overhead. Ibis, herons, egrets, pelicans, cormorants, and roseate spoonbills and more all glide in their flocks to nest for the night. Be lulled into serenity by the gently rocking kayak as the sun descends for the night in the pinks, oranges, and reds of sunset.

Finally, the tour culminates in the season’s bioluminescent experience, whether it be summer bioluminescence, winter comb jelly bioluminescence, or a star-studded moonlit sky.

The Mondo Tour was amazing! Our tour guide, Buddy, gave us a history of the area, and he highlighted many different areas around. We saw multiple manatees and dolphins, and we stopped to watch the dolphins feed for awhile. The sunset was amazing, even with the storms in the distance. The bioluminescence was so neat! We went into a back canal where the bioluminescence was more intense. We were very happy with our tour, and we would recommend this tour to anyone who is a local or out of state. We definitely will do this tour again in the future.

We did the combo tour. It was in February, so it was too cold for the manatees, but we saw a lot of bioluminescent jellies, dolphins, and birds. Our guide, Brian, was amazing! He was very knowledgeable about all of the wildlife and kept our tour fun. I would love to go back again during the warmer season.

We had a wonderful experience seeing a good amount of native wildlife. Jayden our guide was super knowledgeable and fun. We were up close and personal with Manatees and various other species. Once in a lifetime experience in seeing the cone jellies! Thanks, Jayden! Would recommend to anyone wanting to see true unspoiled Florida!
