Manatees/Sunset/Bioluminescence Tour

Overview
Experience everything the wildlife refuge has to offer with three distinct experiences packed into one three-hour tour! Launch your kayak in the daylight and surround yourself with Florida’s most-loved endangered species, West Indian Manatees! Sit back while the gentle giants roll, sniff, and nuzzle all around you. Dolphins are also active this time of day as they wrangle their dinner in the adjacent cove.

Next, head out to Bird Island, a federally protected rookery, to watch hundreds of birds soar in overhead. Ibis, herons, egrets, pelicans, cormorants, and roseate spoonbills and more all glide in their flocks to nest for the night. Be lulled into serenity by the gently rocking kayak as the sun descends for the night in the pinks, oranges, and reds of sunset.

Finally, the tour culminates in the season’s bioluminescent experience, whether it be summer bioluminescence, winter comb jelly bioluminescence, or a star-studded moonlit sky.

Fabulous tour and well worth the time and money! Chas was our guide. He is very knowledgeable about the area, the manatees, bio-luminescent algae and the local wildlife. We had a small group (2 boats) and were able to get soem great sunset pictures and take our time in the various places on the tour. He was very amenable to modifying the tour (for our small group) to get "off the beaten path" a little.

We did the sunset tour a few nights ago and we had a wonderful time! Chaz was very knowledgeable about the area and was a super friendly tour guide!! They still do tours even if there is just one couple which was what happened to us so we ended up getting a private tour! Highly recommend!!

Had an amazing time exploring the lagoon! Chaz was our tour guide and was super down to earth and very knowledgeable! Will be booking with them again in the summer time when the bios are easier to see! Saw a bunch of dolphins and manatees. Just a great overall experience.
