Our tour guide was well informed, very helpful, and very attentive to what we wanted to do and see. We had never been to New York, and selected Streetwise because we wanted a private, customizable tour. We made the right choice, it was a fantastic experience. We selected the length of tour, the things we wanted to see, the neighborhoods that we wanted to visit, and the things we wanted to do. We decided where we want to start and where we wanted to stop. And when we had trouble deciding what to do, our guide was there to offer suggestions and ask questions to help us decide. We were met in the lobby of our hotel at the time of our choosing. Along with all the incredible sights, our guide helped us to get used to the subway system and understand the ways we could easily navigate the city. This was truly the best tour experienced I’ve ever had, and I have toured many US cities.

We booked a 6 hour tour for the two of us and was not disappointed! It was my 1st visit to New York and really wanted to get a good feel of the place. We met Dan, a great, friendly guy who showed us the whole of lower Manhattan.....we walked miles.....didnt think my legs would work the next day!!! Lol We saw things we would never have seen as tourists and Dan was so full of information, we learned so much. My emails were answered very quickly and Dan sent a photo so we knew who we were meeting. A great professional small company that delivers everything it says on the tin! Thanks Dan!!

We had a difficult time choosing between the many types of tours offered in New York City. We're so glad we decided to go with Streetwise. We met our guide (Dan) at the Chelsea Market. He was very knowledgeable on New York City, easy going, relaxed, funny, witty and a great tour guide. He kept the pace adjusted to what suited us best. When we wanted to linger to take more photos, that was fine. And if we wanted to stop for a slice of pizza, New York style, then it was no problem. The three of us spent the next three and a half hours checking out many areas of New York City. We walked through The High Line, the Meat Packing District, Greenwich Village, SoHo, Little Italy and Chinatown. We covered alot of ground and Dan was a wealth of knowledge. One of the more interesting places that Dan took us to was Music Inn World Instrustments in Greenwich Village. It’s a tiny store that is crammed with all different types of instruments. The best part of the store is Jeff Slatnick who has been at the store for over forty years, and never left the 60′s. Bob Dylan used to buy his records at this store. Dan also showed us the smallest townhouse in New York City (75 1/2 Bedford St) at nine and a half feet wide, which was for sale for $4.3 million in 2011. We also saw the outside of the apartment building used in the TV show Friends. At the end of our tour, Dan was kind enough to show us how to use the subway and we made our way north to the Ed Sullivan Theatre. Next time I visit New York City I will definitely book another tour with Streetwise, and I would highly recommend that you do the same.
