Manta Magic - Night Manta Ray Snorkel At Manta Village, Kona, Hawaii

Overview
Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

We are proud to be a Green Listed company, and we take an environmentally cautious approach to our interactions with the manta rays.

This was one of the best experiences in my entire life. It far exceeded my wildest dreams. A manta ray encounter has been on my bucket list for at least 20 years, and I could never have imagined anything better than the experience last night (we did the 7:20 pm timeslot). Even though today was very rainy, the visibility in the water was excellent. If you follow Justin and Brent's guidelines and pay attention (key!), you will see 14+ ft mantas brush up against you, dance and flip under you, and interact. Listen to the rules and respect the nature around you. These gentle giants are a beauty to behold. I hope I can come back again soon.

Big thanks to Jeff and Hunter for the awesome experience! Had such a great time getting up close and personal with the manta rays. We got on the boat and within 5 minutes we arrived at the location. The mantas immediately came to say hi as soon as they turned on the lights. Highly recommend either buying their phone bag or renting their go-pro. Its very nice to recollect on the memory and footage after getting back from the trip! Big nono to people who are there to touch mantas. This will manage their coating and will lead to infections. We are there to observe these creatures, not to endanger them! We rented a go pro and looked at the footage and saw one pair of two guests constantly touching the mantas. Please don’t do that! You WILL get kicked out if you persistently touch the mantas, and thats what happened to the group that kept doing so! Well deserved in my opinion. So be warned!!! All in all, 11/10 experience and will definitely recommend them to my friends visiting the Big Island!
