Manta Magic - Night Manta Ray Snorkel At Manta Village, Kona, Hawaii

Overview

Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

One of the greatest experiences of my life! Captain Jeff was an phenomenal captain and Hunter was an incredible guide! The experience with the manta rays was an absolute blast! Seeing manta rays so close just takes your breath away! 5 stars, would do it again in a heartbeat!

I used Hawaii Oceanic to go see the Manta Rays and it was the greatest experience of my life. Hunter and Justin were the captains of my boat. Not only did they leave the whole boat laughing, they were super caring and attentive. The first time out we only saw one manta, so they offered me a lifetime guarantee to come back and try again. So.. I came back 3 days later and we saw NINE!! It was the most magical thing I’ve ever witnessed. A must do. Thank you Hunter and Justin!

What an amazing experience! Our guides, Hunter and Justin were both absolutely fantastic. They were incredibly knowledgeable about all things manta rays. We did the 7:30p dive and saw about 6 or 7 (I lost count) swimming beneath us. It’s a must do for those interested in marine life. No worries if you aren’t a strong swimmer or a non-swimmer, the guides will make sure you are safe the entire time you’re on the water. Definitely opt for a wet suit if you go in the fall like we did, the water isn’t freezing but the extra layer is preferred and the wet suits are part of the fee.
