Manta Magic - Night Manta Ray Snorkel At Manta Village, Kona, Hawaii

Overview
Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

We are proud to be a Green Listed company, and we take an environmentally cautious approach to our interactions with the manta rays.

Unfortunately due to bristle worm infestation in the water the trip was canceled. We got into the water and saw the worms but no mantra rays. Tom, our tour guide was great to work with and he offered all of us refunds. It was just an unfortunate day to be out

While we can not control nature, we go out of our way to do everything possible to take care of our customers. For 2-3 nights per year, bristle worms come to the surface to spawn, and we are sometimes forced to cancel tours for safety reasons. If we ever cancel a tour, we immediately issue full refunds to our customers. Most of our customers understand that we can't control nature. Unfortunately, there are guests who will write negative reviews even when we were "great to work with." It's clear that we only cancelled the tour due to unsafe conditions for our guests, and that we provided a refund once it was cancelled. If anyone is concerned about whether a tour may be cancelled due to safety concerns (or for any other reason), please give us a call at Hawaii Oceanic. Mahalo!

Amazing experience! The boat was small so in total there were only 12 people on our tour. Way better than those lever groups of 20-50. Our captain and guide were great. 10/10

Great company, very professional. We went out on the 9pm boat. We saw 4-5 mantas. They were along the bottom, so not too close. It was great none the less, but the captain didn't feel we got the full experience, so he issued a credit for everyone in the boat to be able to book again! Great customer service in my book!!

Mahalo for the feedback, and for calling out the fact we went out of our way to offer you a credit for another trip, even though you did in fact see manta rays. Our biggest concern is that you have a magical experience, and if it's not magical, we will make it right! Mahalo
