Manta Magic - Night Manta Ray Snorkel At Manta Village, Kona, Hawaii

Overview
Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

We are proud to be a Green Listed company, and we take an environmentally cautious approach to our interactions with the manta rays.

Well…we could not locate the people first of all. No signage. They did call to try and locate us which they did. Hope they fix that and they were just rushed because of covid restrictions. The boat was 1/2 hr late. We had 8 on the boat which was a full boat. We were supposed to get snacks and drinks which we did not. Thank goodness a bigger boat was next to us and explained about the rays and other fish. Our guys didn't share much. I am hoping they ate roomies and this is a start up business and they will learn from these tid bits.

Aloha Kerry - thank you for the valuable feedback. Regarding the difficulty finding us, we are not allowed to have any signage in the harbor parking lot. We tried to call you, as you mentioned, to help smooth out the process. Regarding snacks and drinks, we are limited due to COVID restrictions and we apologize for any confusion. Regarding the manta ray presentation, thank you for the feedback. We will work with our staff to ensure we have a robust presentation with additional information for our guests. Mahalo!

The manta ray snorkel was incredible! Several 8 ft wide manta rays doing barrel rolls right under us as we hung out at the surface. Definitely recommend it! The directions are very confusing - you are better off meeting at the “alternative” harbour address 78-7130 Kaleiopapa St. Lailua Kona Hi. But if you do get lost, call the number provided and the guide will help you find the group

Aloha Monika - we're glad you had an amazing experience with the manta rays and Hawaii Oceanic! Thank you for the feedback regarding the directions and parking. We try to make it easy for people to find parking, by offering parking in a secondary lot, and we understand that it's leading to confusion. We are working on streamlining the process to avoid confusion. Mahalo!

This place took our money but when we got there we were told that had not been open since the COVID-19 pandemic had started! It was for my daughters 18th birthday so I was beyond upset!!!!
