Manta Magic - Night Manta Ray Snorkel At Manta Village, Kona, Hawaii

Overview
Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

We are proud to be a Green Listed company, and we take an environmentally cautious approach to our interactions with the manta rays.

Nick, John and Emily did a superb job preparing our group and setting the stage for an excellent performance by the mantas. It was a unique snorkeling adventure. We had gone on the day snorkeling trips with Sea Quest. I wholeheartedly recommend both type of experiences.

We went on the 730 pm tour so it was dark from the moment we left --- not a big deal that night as it was too cloudy to see the sunset. The Captain and his mate, Dillon, were fantastic giving us an introduction into manta rays and, as both were born and raised on the Big Island, also gave us a lot of interesting info about life in Hawaii. The highlight, though, were two manta rays that came so close to us they brushed against us (we weren't allowed touch them but they were allowed to touch us). Amazing animals and the close proximity really added to the experience. I can't wait to see the free pictures that Hawaii Oceanic provides. The boat only fits 12 or so which was a positive as it kept the group small and more intimate.

Such a delight to go with a small group (9 people) Captain Jason and Dillon of Hawaii Oceaniic. I'm glad that I had not seen any of the videos because I was totally surprised when I grabbed on to the float and put my head into the water on ourManta Magic-Night Manta Ray Snorkel experience. This was a very safe experience, and the manta rays were plentiful. I could have spent the night hanging on to the float. A highlight was when a ray came straight up at me from the bottom. I could see down his mouth! They do not have a bone in their body. It's all muscle and cartilage.Don't miss this opportunity. Go with Hawaii Oceanic on their late night excursion. You'll never forget the experience!!
