Manta Magic - Night Manta Ray Snorkel At Manta Village, Kona, Hawaii

Overview

Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

Very well run, very efficient manta ray operations 3 minute boat ride means no queasiness. Fast check-in. Clear instructions ; knowledgeable guides. And of course manta rays! Highly recommend. It was just enough of the manta ray experience without having to commit 3 hours

Fantastic experience with very nice people. For me it was the only experience I can equate with skydiving, Predjama and sunsets over Lake Garda. Just please make sure your camera is set up and your mask and snorkeling gear is set up, you are going to want to see and film this.

AMAZING! Once in a lifetime experience. Right when we got there we were greeted by Lexy. She was super friendly and helpful. The men on the boat were also super friendly and made the whole experience comfortable. They were also very knowledgeable and were able to answer all our questions. We were lucky to be able to see about 6 of the manta rays. They came within inches of our bodies. Slightly scary at first, but quickly forgot about it when I saw how beautiful they looked. You do not need snorkeling experience. The boat ride was about two minutes and the water was also very warm. Just bring a towel and you will be fine. Bring a waterproof phone case to take videos or you can purchase one there for $20 or rent a go pro.
