Manta Magic - Night Manta Ray Snorkel At Manta Village, Kona, Hawaii

Overview

Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. He answered any questions we might have about Manta Rays. We felt completely at ease and safe throughout the entire excursion. We saw several Manta’s up close and personal. They are truly majestic creatures. The water was a bit chilly but they provided us with wet shirts to keep us warm. This was honestly the coolest excursion we have ever been on. I would highly recommend to everyone.

Used Hawaii Oceanic for my second manta dive. It was incredible! This company uses ankle floats instead of a pool noodle to keep your legs floating. What a difference that makes. Keeping your legs afloat is effortless. Lexi made the check in easy. She was easy to find and explained things clearly. Justin our captain got us out to the site while giving us great manta facts and Hunter , our guide in the water with us, moved us around to keep our area full of beautiful mantas. Make sure to wear the wetsuit jacket to be comfortable and if you’re not entirely comfortable, Justin and Hunter will take special care of you. This is a must-do and I will do this again with Hawaii Oceanic for sure!!!

Amazing experience. Did the 6:10 sunset viewing. Saw TONS of manta rays up close. Justin and Hunter were very knowledgeable guides and just made the whole experience even better. I would definitely recommend this experience.
