Manta Magic - Night Manta Ray Snorkel At Manta Village, Kona, Hawaii

Overview
Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

We are proud to be a Green Listed company, and we take an environmentally cautious approach to our interactions with the manta rays.

This was one of the most breathtaking experiences of my life. At first it was very scary I don’t lie you do need to know how to swim or at least be comfortable in very deep water. But if you are than the experience is amazing the rays are huge they came so close to the surfboard and we had Hunter as our Guide and he was so knowledgeable so nice and so funny

The Rays were beautiful! Eric and Justin were knowledgeable, helpful and fun. The beautiful young woman who checked us in was very kind. Was disappointed the write up mentioned getting a photo and when we asked about it, the gal didn’t have a clue about it. Snacks and drinks were marginal but hey we went to see the Mantas and that was a two thumbs up. We enjoyed the small group vs a large group. But the write up should be changed to avoid confusion.

What an amazing experience. We went out on the 6:50P trip. Staff was awesome, from the wetsuit fitting, instructions, captain and swim guide; all we're so customer friendly. After a short trip out to the Manta site we were in the water and amongst the majestic creatures for about 40 minutes. The show they put on was spectacular, with barrel rolls and rubbing against you. We were treated with 4-5 Mantas at a time. The length of the trip was perfect. All smiles and breathtaking beauty. I highly recommend booking a trip with this company, they are top rate! Such a memorable experience and must do on the Big Island.
