What an excellent Glacier hike.
Cheyenne picked us up from the designated hotel and off we went. We drove approximately 2 hr north to the Matanuska Glacier. After getting a 2nd guide and a short safety breifing off we went. Hiking on the glacier was definitely a thrill. With our shoe crampons our footing was secure. We learned about types of ice and what to watch out for, learning about; The formation, Crevasse, Moraine, Ablation and a Moulin (A hole or tube in a glacier where water flows, making a loud, roaring noise). One of the best parts was drinking super clean, glacier water. In addition to traching us abour glaciers, they always kept out safety at the forefront. (One guide leading and one at the rear, watching over us) I never felt we were an any unsafe areas. I want to thank Cheyenne and the other guide (didn't get her name) for an excellent day.
