Our cruise with Stan Stephens is the highlight of our trip to Alaska so far. We got to view the stunning scenery that defines the Prince William Sound, had close encounters with sea otters, puffins, seals and a humpback whale, plus we watched the Meares glacier calving into the ocean. The staff are fantastic and happy to answer every single question you might have. This was an amazing experience that I would recommend to anyone who visits Valdez.

The boat trip to Meares Glacier on Friday June 6th was very scenic and beautiful on its own. Now add all of the wildlife I viewed and it was amazing. On this trip I was blessed to see eight humpback whales, six dalls porpoises, one harbor porpoise which is rare sighting, bald eagles, horned puffins, tuffed puffins, scores of steller sea lions, sea otters and harbor seals. As if that was not enough Meares Glacier put on a show and was calving a lot of ice into the ocean. The boat got to about a quarter mile from the face allowing amazing views. The staff were friendly and the lunch provided was delicious. Overall wonderful trip and I have been on a couple of their cruises but this one had the most wildlife I have seen yet. If you come to Valdez definitely take one of their cruise options.

The experience of spending a day hiking in the bays of the Valdez Sea was very satisfying. The landscapes of a day of mists from the boat, very warm, having breakfast, being able to move throughout the boat, bathrooms very well conditioned, free drinks all the way. And then there is the half hour in front of the imposing glacier and the sighting of fauna and seabirds. We always felt safe along the way, which after other experiences in other parts of the world was to be appreciated. We loved it.
