Mendenhall Glacier Ice Adventure Tour

Overview
Explore Mendenhall Glacier on this exclusive adventure tour into the Alaskan Wilderness. Your expert guides will lead you on a journey across Mendenhall Lake where you will paddle together with a small group past icebergs, giant waterfalls, and wildlife. On your way to the ice, you will be surrounded by breathtaking scenery of mountain peaks nestled in the Tongass National Forest. Upon landing the canoe at a remote beach site, your guides will safely lead you on an interpretive hike around the rocky surfaces located directly in front of the glacier. Here you will discover the magnificent ice features up close. Views of specific glacial features like Ice Caves and Moulins cannot be guaranteed due to the nature of the constantly moving ice. Incredible experience! What a fun way to see the Mendenhall Glacier! Ryan and Casey were outstanding guides which made the morning so enjoyable. Everything was provided (dry sacks, waterproof boots, water/snacks, waterproof gloves, rain jackets, waterproof pants, crampons, helmets, life jackets). The name brand gear was in great condition and made the trip comfortable. We paddled as a group in a canoe across Mendenhall Lake and then put on helmets and crampons for a guided walk on the glacier. There were no ice caves available but a black bear was nearby which was an exciting part of this memorable adventure! Don’t miss this!!!

This was one of the highlights of our vacation. Maybe THE highlight. The canoe ride to the glacier was incredibly peaceful, Liquid Alaska let us borrow high-quality rain gear, and our guides (Ryan, Andrew, and Casey) were all friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to take a million photos for their guests. We highly recommend this tour.
