Explore Mendenhall Glacier on this exclusive adventure tour into the Alaskan Wilderness. Your expert guides will lead you on a journey across Mendenhall Lake where you will paddle together with a small group past icebergs, giant waterfalls, and wildlife. On your way to the ice, you will be surrounded by breathtaking scenery of mountain peaks nestled in the Tongass National Forest. Upon landing the canoe at a remote beach site, your guides will safely lead you on an interpretive hike around the rocky surfaces located directly in front of the glacier. Here you will discover the magnificent ice features up close. Views of specific glacial features like Ice Caves and Moulins cannot be guaranteed due to the nature of the constantly moving ice. What To Expect

Mendenhall Glacier

Guests will spend 60-90 minutes hiking around the rocky moraine and exploring near the Mendenhall Glacier.

Tongass National Forest

The entire Mendenhall Glacier ICE Adventure Tour operates in the Tongass National Forest, the largest National Forest in the United States.

While our first time in Alaska, we wanted to experience a Glacier. Our group (Age range 58-65) were in OK to good shape, but by no means excellent shape. This tour was excellent and Spencer, Grant, and Micah were fantastic tour guides. They were with us all the way and even took our suggestions for 'descending the glacier'. They even threw out a compliment or 2 or 3 or 4....on our skills! Would highly recommend this tour for the young at heart!

Casey & Joey were awesome tour guides. They were very friendly,knowledgeable of the area, and kept everyone safe while out on the ice and canoe. They also took some of the best photos/videos of us in the ice caves. Pickup/drop off was well organized and made it very easy to find so you don't have to worry about anything other than showing up. They provide all the equipment too.

They were incredibly accommodating, kept the trip fun and educational from the moment we met Abby at the port to the moment Spencer dropped us off. Mendenhall Glacier and everything around it were gorgeous and everyone in my group felt well prepared, taken care of, and ready to get the most out of every aspect of the tour. If you are at least somewhat active, don’t worry this will be easy for you and you’ll get to enjoy all of the sites. Bonus: I forgot my sunglasses in my life vest, Abby found them, and kindly shipped them back to me. Great experience all around. I’d highly recommend Liquid Alaska Tours.
