Abby and Grant were excellent tour guides! They made sure we were suited-up appropriately, gave easy to understand instructions, made sure the canoe was balanced well, guided us through currents, and watched out for us as we explored the glacier. Used to hiking in moderation, I had some concerns about actually being able to handle climbing the glacier, The climb proved to be very doable with the right equipment. Also enjoyed seeing wildlife and hearing lots of history about Mendenhall Glacier and Lake. My travel partner and I thought it was an awesome experience!

Booked the Ice Adventure Tour based on the positive reviews. The tour was fantastic, and was a great way to experience the natural beauty of Alaska. Ben and Abby were awesome guides. They were knowledgeable, confident, and welcoming. Although not guaranteed, we did get to explore an ice cave, which was a vacation highlight. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Juneau. Also while this tour cannot be booked through the cruise lines, Liquid Alaska times there tours to accommodate cruise ship departures and arrivals.

The title says it all: we canoed across the Mendenhall Lake to the Mendenhall Glacier, donned our crampons, hiked to the glacer and entered an ice cave, all made possible by the 3 great guides: Ben, Casey and Joey. Not much else to say, but read on for details. Arranged separately from the NCL cruise, it was a short ride from the embarkation point to the lake where we were geared up with boots, pants, rain jacket, helmet and gloves. It was about 45 of moderate canoeing to the glacier with several rest stops. Upon landing, we walked a bit before putting on the crampons. Our guides lead us across the glacier, to some small glacial pools and into an ice cave. The nearly two hours on the glacier was over in an instant The experience could not have been better.
