Your expert guides will lead you on a journey across Mendenhall Lake where you will paddle together with a small group past icebergs, giant waterfalls, and wildlife. Upon landing the canoe at a remote beach site, your guides will safely lead you on an interpretive hike around the rocky surfaces located directly in front of the glacier. This was a once in a lifetime experience. If you have found this website and are visiting Juneau, do not hesitate. Book it. The adventure was once in a lifetime but, Everything about the experience was the best I have experienced on a shore excursion. Well planned and carefully considered. REI and north face gear. High quality snacks. Small groups. And the guides genuinely enjoyed their day as much as we did. We were on the NCL Joy and had only 6 hours in port. They were incredibly mindful and attentive to use our time carefully. Our teenagers were engaged and loved it as much as we did. Joey and Ryan even helped with a glacier facial.

We have a family of six with four teenagers. We enjoyed the canoe on Mendenhall Lake to the glacier. We were lucky enough to have fantastic weather that was slightly overcast but not raining. Casey and Grant did a fantastic job with the tour. We learned a lot about the glacier and the surrounding ecology. The lake was spectacular and of course the glacier was magnificent!! We cannot recommend this tour highly enough! Best, Kaufmann Reilly Family

We went on the glacier hike with Abby & Micah from Liquid Alaska Tours. They were full of energy and really worked hard to make the trip comfortable and enjoyable for everyone there. The rowing wasnt too tasking but it was well worth it to be able to hike on the glacier. What an ex[experience!

We are glad that your group felt comfortable walking on something as rare as glacial ice!!! The ice is not as slippery as you would imagine, but the crampons are still needed for the extra traction and support while walking on the ice. Thank you!
