Mendenhall Glacier Ice Adventure Tour

Overview
Explore Mendenhall Glacier on this exclusive adventure tour into the Alaskan Wilderness. Your expert guides will lead you on a journey across Mendenhall Lake where you will paddle together with a small group past icebergs, giant waterfalls, and wildlife. On your way to the ice, you will be surrounded by breathtaking scenery of mountain peaks nestled in the Tongass National Forest. Upon landing the canoe at a remote beach site, your guides will safely lead you on an interpretive hike around the rocky surfaces located directly in front of the glacier. Here you will discover the magnificent ice features up close. Views of specific glacial features like Ice Caves and Moulins cannot be guaranteed due to the nature of the constantly moving ice. Best experience of the entire cruise & vaca. Felt like being on another planet when on glacier. Involves a nice canoe ride 2-way and is a great adventure. Our guides Casey & Ryan were awesome and cool. Ask Ryan for Mendenhall Mocha. Strongly recommend doing it if u’r up for a mini adventure. Here are some pics

This adventure is an absolute MUST DO in Juneau ... there isn’t a better way to fully experience the indescribable power and beauty of the glaciers than to personally be on the water AND then literally hike on them. This is one of our highlights on our first trip to Alaska no question. From start to finish, our guides, KC and Grant were awesome, knowledgeable and knew their stuff. The paddling may seem intimidating (it was about 5 miles in total broken down by paddling in 1 hour, hiking and then paddling back) but it worked out great because everyone is paddling together. Hiking is done very safely and slowly and allows for breathtaking pictures and scenery. I am SO grateful that of all the excursions we could have picked - we ended up on this one. I highly recommend and would do it again. My husband and I LOVED it.

Spencer and Joey were fabulous guides who kept us safe every step of the way! The canoe ride was fun and beautiful and the glacier walk was cool and beautiful! Great use of shore excursion funds.

We are so happy to hear you enjoyed the canoe ride. It is so magical paddling across a glacier-fed lake surrounded by mountains, a waterfall, wildlife AND a GLACIER!!! Thank you.
