Mendenhall Glacier Ice Adventure Tour

Overview
Explore Mendenhall Glacier on this exclusive adventure tour into the Alaskan Wilderness. Your expert guides will lead you on a journey across Mendenhall Lake where you will paddle together with a small group past icebergs, giant waterfalls, and wildlife. On your way to the ice, you will be surrounded by breathtaking scenery of mountain peaks nestled in the Tongass National Forest. Upon landing the canoe at a remote beach site, your guides will safely lead you on an interpretive hike around the rocky surfaces located directly in front of the glacier. Here you will discover the magnificent ice features up close. Views of specific glacial features like Ice Caves and Moulins cannot be guaranteed due to the nature of the constantly moving ice. We took the Canoe Paddle and Glacier Trek tour on May 19, 2019. There were 11 people on the tour; including 5 in my group ranging in age from 20 - 62. Ben and Casey were excellent guides; they knew just when to offer a helping hand to those who needed a little extra help on the ice. We were in Alaska for almost two weeks (including time in Denali National Park). This tour was the highlight of our entire trip. We were in Juneau on a cruise. We were a little nervous since the tour ended at 8 pm and all aboard was at 8:30, but they got us back to the ship in plenty of time! The company uses quality equipment. We felt safe, dry and enjoyed every aspect of the excursion.

Definitely a must-do experience if you’re visiting Juneau! The views are incredible and we learned a lot about the glaciers, the surrounding area and the local wildlife! Shout out to Abby, Ryan and Ben for making our trip one I won’t soon forget!

The guides Ben and Ryan were awesome providing valuable info about Juneau and Mendenhall glacier. They were very safety focused and provided clear guidance during the cannoeing and ice hiking so everybody could enjoy the whole experience. I do recommend this tour while in Juneau!
