Mendenhall Glacier Ice Adventure Tour

Overview

Your expert guides will lead you on a journey across Mendenhall Lake where you will paddle together with a small group past icebergs, giant waterfalls, and wildlife. Upon landing the canoe at a remote beach site, your guides will safely lead you on an interpretive hike around the rocky surfaces located directly in front of the glacier. This was our first excursion on our 7 day cruise and I am hoping the others can live up to this one. Easy meeting location from the cruise ship and guide was very easy to find. Once you get to starting location the gear they provide you is very nice(North Face/Marmot). Joey and Ryan were our guides and they were awesome! You must be able to paddle a canoe for about an hour each way. Once you are on the glacier you need to be in moderate physical condition(at least able to walk without issues). Would definitely do it again and highly recommend if you are stopping in Juneau. If you want to laugh and have fun while being educated then definitely go with Joey and Ryan!

This adventure was nothing short of incredible. There weren't any cave formations when we went, but we were still in absolute awe of the glacier. The picked us up in front of the ship exactly where they said they would. We made it back in plenty of time. They supply cramp-ons for the shoes, rubber boots, waterproof pants, jackets, etc. They supply everything you need for an adventure you'll never forget! Note: If you're over 40 and not one to work out - take Alieve before and after this excursion. Trust me on that one.

After 6 weeks travelling through Alaska and Canada, this experience is the highlight! Our tour guides Andrew and Alli were fantastic. We felt safe and had a thrilling adventure. I cannot believe the beauty we saw on this glacier and we feel truly privileged to have been able to experience this incredible, unforgettable scenery. I would recommend it to all.
