Your expert guides will lead you on a journey across Mendenhall Lake where you will paddle together with a small group past icebergs, giant waterfalls, and wildlife. On your way to the ice, you will be surrounded by breathtaking scenery of mountain peaks nestled in the Tongass National Forest. Upon landing the canoe at a remote beach site, your guides will safely lead you on an interpretive hike around the rocky surfaces located directly in front of the glacier. What To Expect

Ok, my husband and I have travelled all over the world together and this is one of the coolest experiences we’ve ever had. The lake, mountains and glacier are spectacular. Our guides Alli and Casey were top notch. Totally cool and patient and had a ton of great info to share. We felt completely safe the whole time as they were always looking out for us. They made a big effort to learn all of our names, we felt like we were good friends by the end of the day! We loved that everything from the van they drove to the safety gear they provided was really nice stuff. You weren’t getting 20 year old crumby gear which is refreshing. The paddle there was gorgeous and not terribly strenuous. The hiking part we didn’t find strenuous at all. They were good about going slow and taking lots of breaks. Also, the group is small so you feel like it’s a really personal experience. And the company is small too (independent of the cruise lines) which also makes it much more personal. We liked that a lot. I would 100% do it again. The glacier itself was great but the guides really made it phenomenal.

We did this as a family Tour, It was 100% worth doing, the 2 guides (Andrew and Ally) were amazing and made sure we had a great time. The Hike on the Glacier was a once in lifetime experience, we got to see spectacular views during the tour which we will remember for many years.
