Your expert guides will lead you on a journey across Mendenhall Lake where you will paddle together with a small group past icebergs, giant waterfalls, and wildlife. On your way to the ice, you will be surrounded by breathtaking scenery of mountain peaks nestled in the Tongass National Forest. Upon landing the canoe at a remote beach site, your guides will safely lead you on an interpretive hike around the rocky surfaces located directly in front of the glacier. What To Expect

Mendenhall Glacier

We took the Mendenhall glacier paddle and trek tour on 8/6/2018. It was a rainy and foggy day, which provided a unique experience as we paddled into the fog on the lake. We enjoyed every moment of the tour, including the teambuilding exercises while paddling in the canoe, walking on the glacier and entering an ice cave! Our guides Allie and Ryan did an excellent job, keeping us safe all the time in this very special environment. Really appreciate their hard work!

The Mendenhall Glacier is one of the most visited glacier in Alaska, but most people only see if from afar. To be able to approach the glacier by a canoe and actually walk on it, is a truly remarkable experience, so we thank you. My new wife and I did this excursion and it was a lot of fun. We got to venture inside one of the caves and got to spend a lot of time hiking on the glacier. Matt and Ryan made it entertaining and would highly recommend.
