Explore Mendenhall Glacier on this exclusive adventure tour into the Alaskan Wilderness. Your expert guides will lead you on a journey across Mendenhall Lake where you will paddle together with a small group past icebergs, giant waterfalls, and wildlife. On your way to the ice, you will be surrounded by breathtaking scenery of mountain peaks nestled in the Tongass National Forest. Upon landing the canoe at a remote beach site, your guides will safely lead you on an interpretive hike around the rocky surfaces located directly in front of the glacier. Here you will discover the magnificent ice features up close. Views of specific glacial features like Ice Caves and Moulins cannot be guaranteed due to the nature of the constantly moving ice. What To Expect

Mendenhall Glacier

Guests will spend 60-90 minutes hiking around the rocky moraine and exploring near the Mendenhall Glacier.

The entire Mendenhall Glacier ICE Adventure Tour operates in the Tongass National Forest, the largest National Forest in the United States.

This was the best excursion we've ever taken on any cruise or land vacation! Matt and Andrew were amazing guides and made for a really memorable experience. We especially appreciated the high quality gear we were given (boots, crampons, rain/wind jackets and pants, dry bags) and the snacks and hot drinks!

What an absolutely unforgettable experience! Matt and Ali our guides were fantastic from the moment we were picked up! We were given a talk about the area during the drive which made it very interesting. When we got the the glacier we donned our waterproof clothing, boots and life jacket and were given a wet bag full of yummy snacks and water. Off to the lake we went and climbed aboard a 40’ canoe. Again we were given information about the lake the area and the glacier. All of the equipment supplied or is and the boat were in excellent condition. After a short walk too the glacier we donned our spikes and headed on. I was very unsure about walking on the glacier but Both guides made me feel totally at ease and at every moment were thinking of everyone’s safety. Cannot recommend this tour enough! What a fantastic day we had. Thank you Matt and Ali for making this a day we will never forget for the rest of our lives.

This trip is worth every penny. We lucked out that it was a clear and gorgeous day. The whole experience was great from the canoe ride to the glacier hike. Ryan and Alli were great tour guides and full of energy. Definitely the best shore excursion you can do in Juneau. Once in a lifetime experience.
