What To Expect

Mendenhall Glacier

Guests will spend 60 minutes hiking around the rocky moraine and exploring near the Mendenhall Glacier.

Tongass National Forest

The entire Mendenhall Glacier ICE Adventure Tour operates in the Tongass National Forest, the largest National Forest in the United States.

An hour canoe ride across the lake to the amazing Glacier hike. We had the pleasure of Kevin and Paul's safely guiding us across some rather dangerous glacier areas to learn and explore this vanishing natural wonder. The only thing bluer than the glacier was Paul's eyes. Kevin was incredibly kind and patient with all the guests including the non-english speaking couple. All of us had a great time

Bryce and Kelsie were awesome. The experience with this excursion was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. We were met with Liquid Alaska Tours right when we got off the ship and were directed to the rally point. From there Kelsie took a headcount and we were off to the lake. On our way, Kelsie shared with us some facts about Juneau and the glacier. Upon arrival we were met with Bryce who helped gear us up and gave us a quick class on canoeing. The canoe ride was very smooth despite the wind and we were able to stop periodically for a picture break. When we got to the glacier, we received additional gear such as shoe spikes and walking sticks. We were able to trek across part of the glacier and capture unique pictures including fake ice climbing photos thanks to Bryce. Overall it was a great experience and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Juneau. Thanks Bryce and Kelsie!!
