This was by far the best part of our trip to Alaska and our tour guides, Ben and Ryan, are responsible for that. They picked us up from the cruise docks and took us to the lake where they already had all of the necessary equipment to keep us safe and dry. I bought waterproof hiking shoes- donā€™t make that mistake. They provide you with shoes, waterproof pants and jackets. They even had dry bags for us to store our valuables. From the moment we met them they were providing interesting facts about Alaska and our adventure (and cracking jokes along the way). You could truly sense their passion and excitement to share the amazing experience with us. They are wilderness medicine certified and guided us the whole way up the glacier. I always felt safe with them. They stopped for us to take pictures and even volunteered to take pictures for us so we wouldnā€™t have just all selfies. When we got back, they had snacks and warm beverages waiting for us. They were the best! The canoe did not require much experience but it was a good 1-2 miles. You are rowing with 11 other people though and they take breaks to point out and enjoy the wildlife along the way. The trek up the glacier isnā€™t too bad either because they give you spikes to put on your shoes. I would say moderate intensity. Not suggested for people with bad joints. The sights you will see are surreal. We got to see glacier caves, streams, moulins & crevasses. The ice was a beautiful blue. Itā€™s a trip you will never forget and you must take it with Liquid Alaska. They made the adventure amazing! Thanks Ryan and Ben!

Thank you- we really appreciate it. We know that packing for Alaska can be quite a challenge which is why we provide everything you need to throughly enjoy yourself: Rain boots, rain pants, rain jacket, paddling gloves, dry bag, walking stick and all necessary equipment. We ask that you dress in layers, wear warm socks, and bring a hat and gloves if it is cold. Our tour does not require experience, but guests do need to be physically fit. Ben and Ryan are fantastic and we are honored to be called the BEST part of your Alaskan Vacation.

We booked this trip last year after we booked our cruise to Alaska. Hours were spent researching trips and every time in resulted in Liquid Alaska. If you book the trip, you will get your moneyā€™s worth. You donā€™t have to be a track star to do this trip, but you need to be in decent shape and make sure you are ok with water, hiking, ice and heights. We had seen recent reviews indicating there were no ice caves, we got lucky as one opened the week before our arrival. The glacier changes daily. We canoed 2.5 miles from the landing to the glacier and navigated around several small icebergs (yes-in the lake-icebergs). Once we landed we put helmets on and hiked on rock and dirt until we actually made it to the ice. We then put our crampons on (spikes for boots they give you to grab the ice better) From there we traversed back and forth (Casey was our guild and had mapped out the perfect route the day before) until we crossed several crevasses and made it as high as we could. We hit the lotto and we able to go inside the mouth of the ice cave. The other 2 guides (Abby and Spencer aka Spencerilla-inside joke that day) were there with their team and were able to see all of the spots we did. The team is great. This is not a mega ā€œcanned experienceā€. This is real and it was a blast.

this was a replacement excursion since our helicopter tour fell thru due to weather. but this tour did not disappoint. I loved how much closer we were able to get to the glacier since we were in canoes. and it's good to exercise since all we've been eating was buffet foods from the cruise ship. Abby our guide was great. she was very knowledgeable about the glacier, the Juneau area, and made sure we were all taken care of. the company also lends you top of the line gear for the activity. we went when it was raining and the gear they gave us kept us dry! Thanks Abby and the Liquid Alaska tours!
