Mendenhall Glacier Lake Canoe Tour

Overview
Experience the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness on this 3.5-4 hour adventure to the Mendenhall Glacier. This adventure starts off at the cruise ship docks as an expert guide will transfer the guaranteed, small group on a narrated 30 minute journey to the West Glacier boat launch in the Tongass National Forest. Guests gear up in top quality waterproof gear and after a quick paddle lesson, will launch the canoe onto the Mendenhall Lake to start the journey. Surrounded by steep cliffs filled with Arctic terns, mountain goats, porcupines, and other wildlife; enjoy the serenity of this adventure deep into Alaska. Feel the cool brisk air coming off the glacier as the guide safely navigates the canoe to the best viewpoints of the blue crevasses and seracs on the toe of the Mendenhall Glacier. Be one of the few to step away from the crowds and get face to face with glacier. This Tour is canoeing only and DOES NOT INCLUDE hiking on a glacier.

From start to finish Matt and Liquid Alaska exceed expectations. Would rate Matt and LA 6 stars if I could. Safety was priority and the canoe trip was beautiful and exhilarating. Not that difficult if you are in just in average shape. We had eight people in the canoe plus Matt and we appreciate worked together to meet a goal. Had a great time and would definitely do it again. Matt was very knowledgeable and you could easily tell he truly loves what he is doing. He is very knowledgeable about Alaska, Juneau and nature.

My guides Lena and Paul were excellent. They had lots of good facts and stories about the lake and glacier. This team has all the gear you need and hot cocoa after the hard work of paddling to the glacier. This is a physical activity and the weather can change. I really appreciated the team preparing us with boots/rain pants/rain jackets and gloves. This is a worthwhile trip.

Thank you for the detailed review and we're thrilled you had a great time with us! Although the glacier is melting, we fortunately have many lifetimes of enjoyment left in them!
