Overview
Experience the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness on this 3.5-4 hour adventure to the Mendenhall Glacier. This adventure starts off at the cruise ship docks as an expert guide will transfer the guaranteed, small group on a narrated 30 minute journey to the West Glacier boat launch in the Tongass National Forest. Guests gear up in top quality waterproof gear and after a quick paddle lesson, will launch the canoe onto the Mendenhall Lake to start the journey. Highlight of our Alaskan trip for sure... Very few tour companies are allowed to get as close as we got to the glacier . Not only filled with knowledge about the area but humor as well. Felt very safe and in good hands even when we approached the waterfall within inches. Exciting , jaw dropping beauty and a nice workout all combined. Be prepared to row but the exertion is worth it. Loved our guides!

This tour was a high point of our Alaska cruise. We were picked up at the cruise dock and driven to Mendenhall lake. There, Joey, our guide, gave us all the gear and provided safety instructions. We boarded the 29ā€™ canoe with 9 in our party plus Joey for the adventure of our life time. We were concerned of having to paddle for 2-1/2 hours but we took frequent breaks, and it was not that difficult. Joey was a great guide giving us clear instructions and an education on the glacier and the area. We paddled to the glacier then Joey took us close to the falls. This tour was a highlight of our Alaskan vacation. We highly recommend it.

Tour is very well organized. We were greeted by Joey on the cruise port. There were 9 total in our group. All the rain gear is provided along with boots. The paddling was much easier than I thought. We got pretty close to the Glacier and it was absolutely beautiful. We had the option of getting very close to the falls which our group gave a thumbs up. It was incredible. Joey knows how to maneuver the canoe and keep everyone safe. Joey was a great guide and a wealth of knowledge about the area. I highly recommend this tour.
