Mendenhall Lake Canoe Adventure

Overview
Paddle across Mendenhall Lake, navigating past icebergs, surrounded by Alaskan wildlife on an exceptionally stable, 28-foot, traditional Tlingit-style canoe, with all modern safety gear supplied. Venture within a safe distance of the awe-inspiring face of the Mendenhall Glacier and the beautiful Nugget Falls where you will hit the beach and refuel for the return paddle with an Alaskan-style snack. Due to the close approach to the glacier face, the Forest Service tightly controls the number of participants. Be one of the lucky few to experience this one-of-a-kind adventure!

We had a great time from the bus ride with Angel to the guided canoe tip with Sarah. we saw Mendenhall glacier and learned about the lake and surrounding areas. There was a beautiful waterfall and icebergs. On the drive up we spotted a number of bald eagles perched in the trees. En route back to the dock we noticed a bear in a field. Loads of fun and a nice physical activity after being aboard a cruise ship for a few days šŸ˜‚

It was very wet the day we were there, which definitely dampened the experience The rafting was pretty gentle, so it was relaxing experience rather than high adrenaline Reviews of the mountain and the glacier were pretty spectacular A little on the expensive side
