Mendenhall Lake Canoe Adventure

Overview
Paddle across Mendenhall Lake, navigating past icebergs, surrounded by Alaskan wildlife on an exceptionally stable, 28-foot, traditional Tlingit-style canoe, with all modern safety gear supplied. Venture within a safe distance of the awe-inspiring face of the Mendenhall Glacier and the beautiful Nugget Falls where you will hit the beach and refuel for the return paddle with an Alaskan-style snack. Due to the close approach to the glacier face, the Forest Service tightly controls the number of participants. Be one of the lucky few to experience this one-of-a-kind adventure!

I recommend this tour. Our guides were knowledgeable and helpful. It was a beautiful trip. The lake was lovely. They take you for a great view of the glacier and you walk up to the falls.

Our guide was great. The views are amazing. You walk to the waterfall. They offered snacks twice. It was rainy and cold but fantastic none the less. The offer full rain gear and boots.

We were picked up on time and the bus driver was quite honest while driving us to the lake. She shared funny stories and pointed out some Juneau sights along the way. It was a beautiful day to canoe, however, the tour before us was late getting started so we waited around for about 40 min. Once we began, I believe our tour was cut short because we were short on time and had to return to our ship. So I don't feel like we got the whole experience. We viewed the glacier from far away. Not sure if that was because of time or that is where the usual stopping point is. Our guide, Leanne was encouraging and friendly.
