Our guide RC was wonderful, he was happy to show us notable features in the buttes and landscapes, and gave us some really interesting insights into the history of the place as well as stories about Navajo life and culture. He took us to some of the best photo spots and pointed out things like petroglyphs, wild plants, acoustics, animal tracks, etc. Sure you can drive the valley loop on your own, but I think we would have missed most of the features of interest if we'd tried to self guide ourselves through it. We also visited a Hogon to see the whole process of how those beautiful rugs are made. Overall an excellent excursion, worth the money and highly recommended!

We booked our tour to be part of a group but ended up being the only two. Our guide was Wayne. He informed us that the audio equipment for the truck was broken so he couldn't narrate as we drove along. This was a disappointment and I felt this should have been corrected beforehand because it was part of the trip. Wayne was informative once I started asking questions at the stops. I'm not sure if he would have offered any information if I hadn't encouraged him. I would have to agree with another reviewer that some of the stops didn't need to be as long as they were and my husband thought it could have been to meet the advertised 2.5 hour time allowed. Overall I found it enjoyable & informative!

Simpson tour in back of a pickup truck with 2 rows of seats. Bumpy road but still a great tour. Navajo guide and driver who gave us a lot of good information. And if your are old Western movies fan - you HAVE to see this.
