Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park
Your guide would take you to see the beautiful iconic buttes, spires and mesas that have made Monument Valley famous on part of the 17 mile loop drive. We would then go to the back country restricted areas of the Tribal Park to stand beneath the natural arches, amp theaters and get right up close to the Anasazi petroglyphs. Our guides are so kind and would explain the traditional meanings of each location, history, and culture while answering any question that you might think of. Navajo Spirit Tours does not shy away from some of the spiritual topics that you might not hear about on a regular day. We do try our best in the short amount of time that we have with each of our guests to teach as much as we can while you are here. We do look forward to meeting you!

My four children and I booked a pretty last-minute tour with Navajo spirit guides in monument valley. On the phone they were very patient with us and courteous as we actually got lost coming from the hotel. Larry the medicine man was our guide and made this amazing place come to life for us. We did a sunset tour From 5:45 - apx 8:15. Larry was able to take us through the park into the restricted area because he is actually initiated into the lands. He talked about the Navajo people and their customs showing us different places along the way. We stopped and looked at some artisans. We stopped and looked at a woman inside Hogan teaching us about weaving cotton and using the natural herbs surrounding to dye it. He took us to ceremonial arches where there was another tour guide playing the flute and singing some songs. The land here is amazing. The sand felt like water between our toes and we climbed a hill and marveled at the scenery. There is so much history and culture in monument valley that makes the landscape so much more than just Beautiful volcanic rock shapes. We loved the wild horses! Larry was an excellent driver and we went through much terrain I know we could never have driven through. We did completely enjoy this experience and I would love to go back again another time I was very sad when it was ending. Worth every penny. As a sidenote : when we pulled up we initially parked in the wrong lot and walked over to some tour guides we thought we were in the right place, but they were like sharks in a feeding frenzy trying to get us to come on their tour instead. I am so glad and so appreciative we found Larry who is down to earth, funny, and really a good guy. I’d only book with this company in the future.

We did the sunrise tour with Don. When I was waking our 9 and 10 year olds at 4:30 am I was wondering what I was possibly thinking when I booked this sunrise tour. I soon found out that it was totally worth it. Don took our family of 4 along with 2 others on a tour in a Suburban. I liked this much better than the open tour trailers used on other tours. It allowed Don to talk to us and tell us stories the whole time. We could never have driven in the areas we did without Don driving us in the Suburban. The sunrise was absolutely spectacular. We enjoyed Don’s stories about Native American culture and his geological explanation about how the canyon was formed. We made many stops on our trip - Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Arches, Bryce, Zion - but this tour of Monument Valley was the favorite for my husband and me.

My 3 grandchildren and daughter took this tour with Larsen. What a fantastic way to see Monument Valley and learn the customs of the gentle kind and thoughtful Navajos. Larsen took the time to explain to the kids all about the Valley and showed them ancient writings by long ago residents of the Valley. Thank you again Larsen for a truly wonderful experience, We will be back!
