Thank you Captain Tommy - you get my vote! Great take off, smooth ride & best of all soft landing. Jim was an excellent Crew Chief! Very informative of the Phoenix area and history as we rode to the lift off site. Definately calmed my nerves. It was safer than I expected. Nice to sit with the other travelers at the end and share a small meal. We had Fun!

When I planned my visited to Phoenix. I wanted to definitely do a hot air balloon ride. I got my friend there to accompany me as a birthday celebration. I booked through Viator (TripAdvisor partner). I scheduled the ride for my birthday which was on a Friday. We had to be at Deer Valley Airport at 5:30am. En route to the airport I got a call saying they had to cancel due to winds. If the winds are more than 10mph it's not safe. We were just a few minutes away too. So we rescheduled for the next morning. Another early wake up on vacation. This time we made it to the airport, got into the van and rode out to the desert. Got to watch a pretty sunrise as we waited. Well nothing was going on & finally the Captain (Bill) came over and explained to us that unfortunately with winds it wasn't a go & if we wanted to try again the next day to let the office know. Well I advised him that I was flying home Sunday, but I will come back since this was something I wanted very much to do. Luckily I had an early afternoon flight & could. Sunday wound up being the charm. All worked out and I got to enjoy a wonderful flight. I was amazed at how motionless we seemed to be flying. We were as low as 400 feet & as high as 4000. Pretty cool. It was only upon our descent that the wind started to pick up. Took us up again for a little bit before we landed a bit rocky, but not bad. Afterwards we had a nice champagne breakfast, got certificates & the folks on my flight wished my friend & I a Happy Birthday & sang to us. Captain Bill brought us a cake to share with everyone. What a fun outing & a check off my personal bucket list!

Thank you so much for flying with us while you were here, and celebrating your birthday's! The pilots do their best to keep everyone safe when it comes to the wind speed, so it's great the third time up was the winner for you! Glad you are able to get a fun item off your bucket list.

I do not know how this company gets good reviews. We were shoved in so tight I could not even turn to see the views. They had 10 of us, half overweight, and I literally could not even turn to see the sunset. They really should inquire as to the weight of their customers prior to filling a balloon basket prior to the trip so they can provide a good experience to all passengers. I do not think 10 people should have been crammed in with half being overweight. We landed with the basket on its side and had to crawl out. Captain Walter used quite a bit of profanity and I found him to be rude. I have had other ballon rides where I could actually turn around to see everything but not this one. I would never recommend this ride.
