What To Expect

Phoenix Sonoran Desert Preserve

All hot air balloon tours check in at the Deer Valley Airport Balloon Ride Parking Area, unless the roundtrip hotel transfers option is selected. Guests will float above the awe-inspiring Sonoran Desert viewing local landmarks, wildlife and plant life from above.

Camelback Mountain

Enjoy stunning views of iconic Camelback Mountain in the heart of the Phoenix Valley. You pilot will share the history of this fascinating city and will point out local wildlife and plant life.

Downtown Phoenix

You will be able to see Downtown Phoenix in the distance as you soar over the valley. As you begin to land, you'll see a table complete with linens and china in the heart of the desert, a clue to what you are about to enjoy! You are greeted with a traditional celebration that includes scrumptiously prepared gourmet cuisine from the award-winning Vincent’s on Camelback restaurant. First-time flyers will be treated to the legendary Balloonists Ceremony that balloonists all over the world have been sharing for more than a century.

We all went as a family and had an incredible time! A lot of balloon rides go up and down and don't do much else. We actually went pretty far and the pilot Mike was very knowledgeable. He knew a lot about the area and the things we were seeing. The crew man Jason was great and he really worked hard to make sure we were all having a good time and got up as quick as possible. The food and champagne at the end was a really nice touch. We even saw a large heard of wild burros and had a glider plane fly around and below us. I would recommend this to anyone, such a great experience!

Had an amazing time in my first hot air balloon! It was incredibly peaceful to be floating above the ground - we made it up to 7,000 ft! But we felt completely safe and comfortable on the ride. Amazing time!

I was so excited to take a hot air balloon ride, but my husband isn't a fan of heights and was very nervous. We went out with captain Tommy and Colton. The crew did a great job of making everyone feel welcome and explaining the process along the way. We got to watch the balloon inflate and take pictures, then we loaded into the basket and up we went. The rise was so smooth and peaceful that you barely noticed we left the ground. We had beautiful weather and made it up to about 4500 feet before lowering over the desert. We saw some jackrabbits from the balloon, and many saguaros of all sizes. The other balloon ended up coming past and gave us a "kiss" along the way. Really cool experience and a great picture of the shadows. The crew was great and knowledgeable. We came in with a pretty smooth landing and enjoyed the breakfast with our fellow riders. My husband said it was his favorite part of our entire trip. Everything was very safe and enjoyable. Thanks to the crew for a great flight!
