The top five mile section of road to the Summit of Mount Evans is scheduled to be closed for the season on September 7, 2024 at Summit Lake.
The lower section of the road will remain open until October 7, 2024 depending on weather conditions.
Bring a warm jacket and dress in layers.
No children under the age of 7. Private tours are recommended for families with children.
You may experience altitude sickness. Avoid alcoholic beverages for 24 hours prior to departure time.
Tour might be cancelled or modified due to the weather or road closures.
No refunds will be issued due to weather or road closures.
Minimum number of 4 passengers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund.

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre

We will enjoy 40 minutes at the park.

Clear Creek Whitewater Park

Scenic drive through Clear Creek Canyon into the city of Idaho Springs. We will stop for a Photo Opportunity.

Idaho Springs City Hall

We will Stop at the Historic Town of Idaho Springs For lunch.

Mount Blue Sky Scenic Byway

We will take the Mount Evans Scenic Byway to the summit

Mount Blue Sky

We will reach 14,271 ft in elevation.

Summit Lake Park

We will enjoy 25 minutes at the Lake.

Echo Lake Park

We will stop at the Echo Lake Park, our last bathroom stop before returning to Denver.

I’ve done quite a few tours in various cities and this is my favorite one so far. I also did the half day Rocky Mountain tour and this one was, in my opinion, far superior. You don’t get to hike a ton, but we were able to go all the way to the summit of Mt. Evans which was beautiful. Our guide was Nick. He was extremely kind, knowledgeable, and gave a comprehensive tour with background information on Denver, wildlife, and history. He was accessible during all stops to take photos for everyone. I would highly recommend requesting him for your tour. I was hoping to see particular wildlife (goats!) and when we spotted some during our drive he actually pulled over so that we could all take some photos and I was able to see them up close. How kind is that?! Plus, everyone else in my tour group was really fun and we had a great time together. Also there are snacks. I was hesitant to do this tour, especially since I travel solo but if you’re on the fence you should absolutely give this one a shot! 10/10.

My tour guide Hudson was one of the highlights of my solo trip. He is so knowledgeable about pretty much all things Denver and he is an amazing photographer especially for us solo travelers. He took us to a great spot in Idaho springs for us to enjoy our lunch and he guided the tour so well so that us tourist could avoid the bad weather and enjoyed the entire tri. 10/10 would recommend
