Muscle Shoals Sound Studio Tour in Sheffield Alabama

Overview
In 1969 the Swampers founded Muscle Shoals Sound Studio and within months they were attracting hit recording artists from around the world who came to them in search of the signature sound that forever changed American music. Through the generosity of Beats Electronics the legendary studio has been authentically restored. From the vintage equipment in the control room upstairs to the orange carpet in the Swampers' party room downstairs, the building looks exactly as it did during those magical years between 1969 and 1978. Peek into the bathroom where Keith Richards put the finishing touches on Wild Horses or sit at the piano that Paul Simon played on Kodachrome.

What an incredible piece of music history. I got goosebumps hearing the stories of what artists had recorded in this hidden gem. Some of my favorite classic rock songs were recorded right in the room I was standing in, using the very equipment on display.

We bought our tour tickets online back in January for a tour on Monday, March 28th @ 11:30am. We were there at 11:15am and it was closed! Couldn’t call because the answering machine was full! Very disappointed since we were leaving the next day and really wanted to tour. We travelled from WI. I guess they work on their own schedule.

We are so sorry about your experience. We have been closed on Monday for some time now but there was a glitch in the Viatour system that for some reason displayed that we were open that particular day. We would be glad to give you a refund. Please email [email protected]. Again our sincere apologies for your unfortunate experience.

Fantastic experience in every way! This tiny studio has a massive history, and it's story was told by an old friend of the Swampers. Pure love for the heart and soul of the music.
