Mush Your Own Sled Dog Team (Summer/Fall Tour)

Overview
This is the only place in Alaska where you can mush your own team of dogs in the summer!

This is not a just a tour kennel; it is the training grounds and homestead of 4-time Iditarod champion, Dallas Seavey. All the dogs are either retired racing dogs (many have won the Iditarod), are currently on the race team, or are the next generation in training to become the next great champions! Our dogs are active and training year-round. As a guest musher here, you become part of Dallas Seavey Racing's year-round training program.

The group size for this experience is usually 6 or less people, with a guide assigned to each group, creating a very personal experience.

All of our dogs are extremely friendly, and love attention. Cuddle puppies, romp with young dogs, or walk with champions.

What an incredible experience! We had a fantastic time learning about the Iditarod. I don't have anything to compare this to, but the dogs seemed really well taken care of, and this is such a prestigious team! The stories of some of the more tragic parts of being a sled dog were so moving, and you can tell the team values its dogs as family. We felt really lucky to be among such accomplished dogs and mushers. Don't miss this!

My mom and I are big animal lovers, so we were very excited to get to meet and love on all the hardworking dogs at this kennel especially knowing they are Iditarod champions (and champions-in-the-making) as Dallas Seavey’s teams! Emily and the other handlers did a great job sharing about their lifestyle and the dogs, some of the dogs’ amazing stories, and how they are trained. All the dogs are so sweet when you come up to them, and they are SO eager to work! They love their job! Then, it was our turn to experience what it’s like to mush! On dry ground, anyway, since the snow hasn’t come yet. Not gonna lie, I was a little nervous about driving the team at first, but once we got going it was easy and so much fun! My mom and I had a blast! A experience unique to Alaska, I would definitely do this again!
