Mush Your Own Sled Dog Team (Summer/Fall Tour)

Overview
This is the only place in Alaska where you can mush your own team of dogs in the summer!

This is not a just a tour kennel; it is the training grounds and homestead of 4-time Iditarod champion, Dallas Seavey. All the dogs are either retired racing dogs (many have won the Iditarod), are currently on the race team, or are the next generation in training to become the next great champions! Our dogs are active and training year-round. As a guest musher here, you become part of Dallas Seavey Racing's year-round training program.

The group size for this experience is usually 6 or less people, with a guide assigned to each group, creating a very personal experience.

All of our dogs are extremely friendly, and love attention. Cuddle puppies, romp with young dogs, or walk with champions.

We went on a summer morning mush. This was by far a ton of fun for our family of 6! We met the dogs, had our own team of 4 and were able to drive our own cart. We got muddy and had the best time. This is a Talkeetna MUST DO! Hoping to make it back for a winter must.

This is so fun, and such an authentic experience. The crew we met (Becky, the trainer and manager) and Leddy (trainer and Iditarod hopeful for 2021) were wonderful. Some of the dogs are retired from competition but others are actively training or leaning. And the dogs clearly are happy, healthy and very well cared for. Itā€™s pretty eye opening to see a top notch dog mushing training facility - I bet youā€™ve never seen aN indoor dog mushing treadmill before!

Mushing the sled dog team was a highlight of our trip to Alaska. Where else can you do this and especially with a 4 time winner of the Iditarod?! The tour was inspiring and educational. They truly love and care about their dogs. We would highly recommend this tour.
