Mush Your Own Sled Dog Team (Summer/Fall Tour)

Overview

This is the only place in Alaska where you can mush your own team of dogs in the summer!

This is not a just a tour kennel; it is the training grounds and homestead of 4-time Iditarod champion, Dallas Seavey. All the dogs are either retired racing dogs (many have won the Iditarod), are currently on the race team, or are the next generation in training to become the next great champions! Our dogs are active and training year-round. As a guest musher here, you become part of Dallas Seavey Racing's year-round training program.

The group size for this experience is usually 6 or less people, with a guide assigned to each group, creating a very personal experience.

All of our dogs are extremely friendly, and love attention. Cuddle puppies, romp with young dogs, or walk with champions.

We had an awesome time. We loved the dogs and our guide was very informative and super interesting to talk with. We learned so much about their training and how much hard work goes into it. The dogs were so friendly and our kids loved playing with them all. The driving of the teams was an experience not to be missed. This is well worth the time on a trip to Alaska and these guys are great!!

J J took the time to go over everything we asked about. The dogs were fantastic to meet and have pull the sled. Great time with the sled pulling and the question and answer time with J J. There's more to the sport than you would think and these guys are working at a high level to continue winning. Playing with the puppies topped off the whole thing, it was definitely a fun time with a unique sport. Looking forward to seeing the Iditarod race details this year now that we know some participants!

Thrilling, exciting, and educational....just so much fun! Dallas Seavey has built a beautiful kennel and tour company in Talkeetna that is a definite "must see" if you are visiting Alaska. The touring facilities are great, the dog yard is innovative and interactive and the sled ride is simply unbelievable. My daughter and I did not stop laughing and loving the drive the entire time. It was fantastic!
