What To Expect

National Corvette Museum

The National Corvette Museum is a showcase to America's sports car. Start your tour with a short film about the history of the Corvette and the Corvette Museum. As you walk though the museum you'll see exhibits featuring over 70 Corvettes in periodic settings including a mid-century barbershop, service station and dealership. You'll see Corvette prototypes, one-of-kind cars, and racing champs. Enjoy hands-on activities in KidZone , trivia kiosks, and the "Corvette Cave In” exhibit. This exhibit takes visitors back to the early morning hours of February 12, 2014 when the earth opened up inside the Museum’s Skydome, swallowing the classic Corvettes. The Museum's Skydome offers a glimpse of the size and depth of the sinkhole as well as the retrieved Corvettes. Guests are also invited to try a Corvette on for size in the lobby. The Corvette Store offers apparel, collectibles, home and gift items. An on-site 50's-inspired Corvette Cafe serves breakfast, lunch and snacks.

Having worked for a GM dealer, I always intended to stop here. Today we did. This is an experience like no other. If you are familiar with the cars that fell into the hole and the fact that the 1,000,000 and the 1,500,000 Corvettes were two of the cars. On display are the cars that were destroyed, an explanation of what happened, actual video of the security cameras as they captured the event. You can preorder a Corvette and pick it up here yourself.

The museum was great and very clean. We noticed that people loaned their brand new cars out to display at the museum. We went to the Motor sport race track 1/2 mile away and saw the holding area for all the new Corvettes waiting for their turn in the museum. There were over 200 cars!!! My spouse was in Corvette heaven. The museum was great, but don't miss the race track to see the large gathering of new Corvettes.
