National Corvette Museum
The National Corvette Museum is a showcase to America's sports car.  Start your tour with a short film about the history of the Corvette and the Corvette Museum.  As you walk though the museum you'll see exhibits featuring over 70 Corvettes in periodic settings including a mid-century barbershop, service station and dealership.  You'll see Corvette prototypes, one-of-kind cars, and racing champs.  Enjoy hands-on activities in KidZone , trivia kiosks, and the "Corvette Cave In” exhibit.  This exhibit takes visitors back to the early morning hours of February 12, 2014 when the earth opened up inside the Museum’s Skydome, swallowing the classic Corvettes.  The Museum's Skydome offers a glimpse of the size and depth of the sinkhole as well as the retrieved Corvettes. Guests are also invited to try a Corvette on for size in the lobby. The Corvette Store offers apparel, collectibles, home and gift items.  An on-site 50's-inspired Corvette Cafe serves breakfast, lunch and snacks.

A car lover's dream museum. The self guided tour takes you on a chronological trip of the Corvette. Nearly every year is represented by cars either owned by the museum or on loan. Each year's placard includes how many Corvettes were made in the model year and design changes (if any). The are numerous concept cars and designs that never made it to production. They also have a section highlighting the 2014 sinkhole incident in which 8 Corvettes were swallowed by a gigantic sinkhole beneath the museum. The three cars that were restored and several of the ones that weren't are on display. On the day I toured a special section at the end of the tour was devoted to Rat Fink custom cars. Having built so many of the models when I was young, this was a particular thrill. I am not sure how long that display will continue. You cannot leave the museum without trying the driving simulator. What a thrill!

This is a great visit even if you don't have a vette. I don't yet enjoyed seeing the passion of the cars designers and fans. It was interesting to see the evolution of the car over the years. It was especially interesting to learn about the cave in the swallowed 8 of the cars on display.

I Loved it. Face masks aren't required as I walked in without 1. We spent about 2 hrs. I liked the layout of the museum and how they had some cars staged.
