National Corvette Museum
The National Corvette Museum is a showcase to America's sports car.  Start your tour with a short film about the history of the Corvette and the Corvette Museum.  As you walk though the museum you'll see exhibits featuring over 70 Corvettes in periodic settings including a mid-century barbershop, service station and dealership.  You'll see Corvette prototypes, one-of-kind cars, and racing champs.  Enjoy hands-on activities in KidZone , trivia kiosks, and the "Corvette Cave In” exhibit.  This exhibit takes visitors back to the early morning hours of February 12, 2014 when the earth opened up inside the Museum’s Skydome, swallowing the classic Corvettes.  The Museum's Skydome offers a glimpse of the size and depth of the sinkhole as well as the retrieved Corvettes. Guests are also invited to try a Corvette on for size in the lobby. The Corvette Store offers apparel, collectibles, home and gift items.  An on-site 50's-inspired Corvette Cafe serves breakfast, lunch and snacks.

While driving north towards Mammoth Cave National Park, I stumbled across a multitude of signage pointing me in the direction of the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. I was instantly intrigued, as Corvettes are a truly majestic brand of automobiles. I was not disappointed. The museum was full of the rich history of the Corvette, and included everything from Corvettes famous racing cars, to a nice art exhibit on Rat Fink concept cars.

From the display of current models at the entrance through the entire historical timeline of the Vette, America's fast and affordable sports car, extracted memories and entertained the younger generations. Many of the cars on display are on loan so one trip in a lifetime is not enough. I have visited several times both before and after the tragic cave collapse Feb 12, 2014. The exhibit of the total-loss Vettes from that sink hole is a must-see. Bring tissue.

If you are a Corvette fan this is a must. I love the early model Corvettes (50s & 60s). At one time I wanted to own one, but for a family guy they are a bit impractical. That being said, the museum is great in providing the history of the famous automobile. There are many beautiful Corvettes on display. Also there is a section on the "cave in" at the museum that took place on February 12, 2014, when a sink hole opened up, swallowing eight custom Corvettes. The museum is well laid out and easy to walk. I recommend it 100%.
