We were introduced to West Virginia Adventures....how should I say this......unexpectedly. Nevertheless, they couldn't have been more friendly, professional and accommodating to our family. With 4 children ranging between 10 and 6, we could only take a trip on the Upper New River. Although the rapids were less intense, the experience for our children was no less enjoyable. High praise to Randy and John Henry for taking the time and interest to make certain the kids were comfortable and enjoying the whole trip. At no time were the kids scared nor were we concerned about our safety - no the raft or on the ducky. Although the New River Gorge is amazing from the rim and the bridge, its real beauty must be experienced from on the river. Just a completely different vantage point. The kicker, was just after running through a set of Class II rapids, a black bear came bounding out of the woods and swam across the rapids where we had momentarily floated. We all, guides included, just revealed in the beauty and splendor of nature. We highly recommend them! We don't know how else the trip could have been improved - perhaps a couple of bald eagles next time? We will be back to run the lower or the Gauley when the kids are of age. Thanks again for everything.

We came with a group of eighty-four people, mostly sixth through eighth graders. We did the upper New and had a great time. Things were well organized and the guides went out of their way to make the experience great and to share about the history and geology of the river. We've rafted with West Virginia Adventures for many years and have always had great experiences. When problems arise, the guides and owner go out of their way to assist and to make things right. Couldn't ask for anything more. Wouldn't raft with anyone else.

Rafting the lower new river with West Virginia Adventures was absolutely wonderful! Everyone was great! Our guide was awesome! We could not have asked for a better one. He was very knowledgeable, had a great personality, and truly went above and beyond to make sure we had the best rafting trip possible. Thanks Randy M.! I would definitely go on this trip again and recommend it to anyone wanting to enjoy the New River. It was my first time rafting but it definitely will not be the last!
