What To Expect
1
Mississippi River
Drive-out along the Mississippi River approximately 30 miles (48 km) to the embarkation point of your airboat from your New Orleans hotel. Depending on the option you selected, board a large airboat holding 15 to 25 passengers or a small airboat limited to six to eight passengers for a more intimate, personalized experience.
2
Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve
Set out on a 1 hour and 45 minute tour on a 20,000-acre (8,095-hectare) tract of tidewater cypress swamp close to the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve. Your airboat is powered by an aircraft propeller to allow a fast, fluid trip through the shallow marshes. Feel the wind on your face as you zip into bayous lined with mossy cypress and tupelo-gum trees. Prepare to see plenty of alligators in the warmer months (and warmer days in winter), some of which may be out sunning themselves on rocks! Your guide may even feed the gators, affording amazing photo opportunities. Keep your eyes open for turtles, snakes, egrets, herons and ibis. You may even catch sight of a hawk, owl or bald eagle. In the cooler months, look for white-tailed deer, raccoons and the large rodents known as nutria. Be sure to check out the indoor exhibits of alligators, including an albino alligator. Note: This tour does not include hotel pick-up or drop-off unless option selected at checkout.

Best experience we had while in NOLA! The small boat tour was incredible, and our guide, Jay, was super knowledgeable, fun and engaging. It was an experience we wonā€™t forget!

Our pilot / guide was very competent, friendly and humorous. He did a great job at showing us the amazing place he lives and obviously loves. I left with an appreciation and respect for the area, the wildlife there as well as the people who call it home.

1. The small boat is worth the extra money. 2. Relieve yourself before your boatride. It is long and bumpy so if you drink anything ... which is encouraged ... you will be needling badly relief when you return to dock. 2. Be carwful to leave nothing behind. Read number 1. If in that state you will forget what you stowed. I am right now 10 min away from the tour site on rhe bus return (then ro flight) but they say no way will they send me my bag which has car keys and about 500 dollars of stuff. Forced to choose now between missing my flight or paying over a thousand bucks to miss flight and stay over a night more. This is despite turning 1500 to 3000 people through this tour ecery day. Terrible policy and basically theft of a bailment. 3. Had a great experience otherwise. This aspect ruined it at the end!! 4. If the tour is reading this it is the drawstring Babolat bag on boat 2 and im on bus 2. Not too late to do the right thing instead of stealing my gear!! Just incredible.
