The guide, Clint was excellent, shared so much interesting history!! The problem was, there was not enough time to enjoy the other historical buildings and gift shop!!!! Way too rushedā€¦add more time!!

It is a nice place to visit. Much history!, some good, some not so! One short coming is that we spent the best part of 2 hours out and back, while the actual guided tour was only 45 minutes, leaving us to walk the grounds on our until until the bus left. I do not recommend this particular for these reasons.

We are sorry about your experience. We do not own Destrehan plantation and so we do not have any control over their tour. We only provide the transportation to and from the plantation. Thank you for your feedback.

The guide was very informative. We only had a guided tour of the main house. I gave the experience 3 stars because the bus company that got us there has a bus with no shocks and we felt every bump in the road, like a rollercoaster. Then the ride was late to the plantation due to traffic. When we got there they said we had 7 minutes to look around and then our guided tour starts. so we didnā€™t get a chance to tour the grounds all we got was a tour of the main house and then another guide talked 15 more minutes about the 1811 slave revolt. Once that was done the bus company called us and said we were past the time for pick up and we had to go or get left! I complained we didnā€™t get a chance to see the grounds, but that said if we didnā€™t get on the bus now we were getting left. I definitely did not get my moneyā€™s worth!!!

We are sorry that circumstances beyond our control occurred with road traffic. We usually leave the plantation by 9:30am and leave about 11am. The driver left the plantation about 11:30am. The Tour of the plantation was 1 hour long. You did get about 30 minutes after the house tour to visit the gift shop and walk the grounds. We are on a schedule and had to adjust the timing to give you the normal 1.5 hours at Destrehan Plantation. Our company made adjustments to the time spent at the plantation. You must be aware that South Louisiana is built on Swamp Land. The roads that we have to travel is not the best and we do apologize for the poor road maintenance by the highway department.
