We have done these types of tours before in NYC, this was our first with Big Bus Tours. The wait at times was excessive and the heat did not help standing next to an empty bus waiting to get on for 30 plus minutes. The worst part was the fact that we had a tour guide who was rude and at times border line insulting. She had a type of European accent and seemed to spew facts that clearly she had memorized. However, the next day we has another, I believe his name was Jack who was great. You could tell he had first hand experience in NYC and was funny as well. However, the experience with the first guide really made the trip unpleasant.

Good Morning dd3212018, Thank you for taking the time to review Big Bus New York. We apologize for the delay in response as we always try to answer customer reviews in a timely fashion. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your guide Jack and his knowledge of NYC, but disappointed to hear that not all the tour guides were great. We apologize that your wait time was so long. We understand that your time is important. We do experience a high volume of customers, but do our best to monitor the demand and plan for an increased number of buses to avoid long waits. At Big Bus, we strive for all of our guests to have an enjoyable experience, and hope that we can redeem ourselves the next time you are in NYC. Kind Regards, BBTNY

There are 4 lines that operate and basically it covers Brooklyn, Manhattan and Harlem. These rides are fun and thrilling if you are visiting NY. But in order to be able to extract max value it is recommended you buy 3 day tour only if you can get off and on at every single point where the bus stops. They also include a boat/ferry tour around Statue of Liberty along with Topdeck pass to Empire state.

If you want to take in a lot of the sights and sounds of New York city this is one of the best ways to do it. With hop on and off you can get off and see they sights they go around to. you can add things in. But point of note the tickets for sites are just general access. If seeing statue of liberty tickets to get into base and up to crown are extra and need to be purchased at least month in advance. Night tour is fun is you want to see the city at night. Trip point. get on one of the first buses and go see statue first to beat some of the crowds.
