Tips: 1. Great way to see the main sights of the city at an elevated view if you have limited time and not on any type of schedule. 2. Not great if you have reservations and need time reliable transportation. Pick up times are unpredictable and the bus attendants are unsure of pick up times as well. The city bus and subway had a more reliable time table (we used the MyTransitNYC app). 3. Depending on what line you are on (red, blue, night, etc) the bus wait times vary. We waited 45 minutes for the blue bus on a Thursday afternoon. 4. Purchase your tickets online, prices are less than paying at the pick-up locations. 5. The night bus departing at 8:30pm had great views of the city at sunset atop the Manhattan Bridge (sit on the top right side of the bus). The bus driver drives slow enough so that you get a great panoramic view of the city and the Brooklyn Bridge. 6. The stops are near and walking distance from most interest points, however it could take 45min to 1hr from pick point 1 to Battery Park on the red line. Plan accordingly. Overall, this bus may be good for someone who wants to see the main sights of the city and has no set schedule or reservations. Consider other forms of transportation if you have to be somewhere at a specific time (ie. bus, cab, subway, etc).

Go to another company! Hello Barri, (with the company customner service) Before coming to NYC my wife and I had already checked into Top View and thought it sounded perfect for our trip. As we came out of Penn Station we saw one of your people and immediately signed up. We took our bags to our hotel on 36th street then walked back over to stop 3 at Macy's. We had to wait in line through three buses that were already full before finally boarding the fourth bus, in the bottom with no A/C. No one was getting off so we couldn't move upstairs. We ended up getting off at stop 6 because we weren't seeing anything plus sweating. We got some lunch and decided to give it another try... buses were all still full with lines even longer! This was the story for our entire trip, nothing but long lines and full buses. Finally on Sunday we were able to board at stop 15 because we had walked to Hudson Yards, we did get upstairs and brought the bus around to stop 2 because we wanted to switch to the Central Park run. Those buses were only running once per hour so we walked and tried timing the next bus but every single one (we gave up after 3) was completely full?? We wasted so much of our trip waiting in lines for nothing. Bottom line we spent $225 to ride two times in four days? So the Hop On Hop Off was not provided. It's the same as paying for a dinner that was never served or paying for an Uber that never showed up. I am not interested in the companies no refund policy especially the way the company solicits business on the streets. How many customers are made aware of that part? And honestly we are not interested in a voucher for the future as we have been to NYC only four times in twenty years. Even if we did come back we wouldn't waste that much time of our trip again. So to sum this up, as I stated in my first email, we can be refunded and put this all behind us or I will dispute the charge with my credit card company, do a very unfavorable review on trip adviser and contact the BBB about the company's practices. My wife and I are very easy going, pleasent people but the service provided was absolutely horrible. Basically non existent. I look forward to hearing from you, My email to this company which meant zero!

Buses were way overbooked and so crowded with a wait period in lines of up to 2 hours to get on a bus. The buses were filthy, the commentary was repetitive and very poor quality and usually the commentary was behind in telling you info about something you had already passed back earlier. The tickets for the Liberty cruise that were included were for downstairs inside on the boat only but no one explained that so you were then hit with a further charge of $20USD per person if you wanted to sit up top in the Liberty to see the statue. The liberty cruise was also so overcrowded that you had to stand in the aisles and hold on and when the cruise was finished we had to wait 2.5 hours for a bus with a spare seat, all the buses coming past were full with no seats and in the end out of frustration, tiredness and hunger hailed a taxi and paid for a cab to get back to our hotel. Arrived back at 8pm from a 3pm cruise experience. Disgusting! We bought a 4 day pass but after the 2nd morning made the decision to walk or get the subway as the buses were always crowded and you would have to wait too long to get a seat, even if you chose to sit inside downstairs. Worst service I have ever encountered from a hop on hop off bus company and will never use them again. Arrived in San Francisco and bought tickets on the Big bus hop on hop off, absolutely amazing service, clean buses, no queues, plenty of seating and excellent commentary and extremely helpful staff.
