A fabulous excursion. Before we ever got onboard, things were already great. We had to change our reservation, and Brenna was a paragon of customer service: patient, open-minded, and helpful on every front. The team on the boat was friendly and helpful (we interacted esp. with Dan and Lonna). The sail itself was such a joy: after so much time in the hustle of Manhattan, it was great to experience it from the calm of a quiet sailboat. Our arrival at the Statue of Liberty coincided perfectly with a glorious sunset, rosy, highlighted with purple clouds, and the crew deserve every credit for keeping us out to the max (I saw plenty of other boats arriving and leaving while we took our time)! We will be doing this again in future NYC stays.

Amazing experience to get a new perspective to the city that never sleeps. Came across the bigger of the two ships when walking through Battery Park and booked a sunset tour with their smaller ship (the Shearwater) for USD 55. One of the best activities in New York in terms of value for money! We were allowed to bring own food – drinks were offered on the ship at reasonable prices (white wine e.g. USD 8). Lovely and knowledgeable crew. Tour lasted for about 2 hours, coming back into the harbour during a beautiful blue hour. If you need a break from the city, away from all the noise and some fresh air in your face, definitely a must-go.

Had an evening off after a conference and did not feel like a show and although I have done quite a couple of sunset cruises around New York before I booked a sunset cruise on the Shearwater - quite like the idea of the old 1929 sailboat .... Maybe it was my fault - should have read the info better but hoped that the trip would also have includes a trip to the Brooklyn Bridge. It goes to the Statue of Liberty and the up in the direction of Staten Island and the for no rhyme or reason dobbers around for 15 or so minutes - maybe to make up the time so that yo have a 120 min trip as the marking material says ... Although far more "pedestrian", the Circle Line Cruises give you a far better experience ...
