What To Expect

The Breakers

Tour includes Admission to ONE of the following Newport Mansions: The Breakers, The Marble House, or Rosecliff. The Breakers is the grandest of Newport's summer "cottages" and a symbol of the Vanderbilt family's social and financial preeminence in turn of the century America. *As of January 3, 2022 all Preservation Society of Newport Mansions are requiring proof of vaccines for all children aged 5 and up. As of January 15, 2022 all adults must also show proof of their Booster Vaccines. This policy is No Exceptions!

We really enjoyed the tour. The tour guide Ray had great personal information about what the city used to look like. It was great to get a locals opinion.

Anne was great tour guide. Very knowledgeable about Newport and the mansions. Also she was promptly waiting for us after our tour to the Marble House which was especially appreciated on a cold rainy day.

A transport change (not tripadvisor's fault) caused us to miss our booked trolley tour and Breakers mansion tour combo. As it was Saturday, the business office of Viking, the local company running the trolley and mansion tour, was closed. Tripadvisor personnel were able to contact the manager at home who arranged a later tour equal to the one we had booked, but broken into 2 parts. We all went home happy because Tripadvisor cared about us and did something rather than just saying: "sorry your ferry got into Newport late." TA really earned their stars that day.
