What To Expect

The Breakers

Tour includes Admission to ONE of the following Newport Mansions: The Breakers, The Marble House, or Rosecliff. The Breakers is the grandest of Newport's summer "cottages" and a symbol of the Vanderbilt family's social and financial preeminence in turn of the century America. *As of January 3, 2022 all Preservation Society of Newport Mansions are requiring proof of vaccines for all children aged 5 and up. As of January 15, 2022 all adults must also show proof of their Booster Vaccines. This policy is No Exceptions!

Reserving a tour online was very easy. Pickup was right outside information center. Tom, our driver and guide was very informative and a great host. We did the Breakers add on and we had more than enough time for house tour. He picked us up on time without a hitch. It was a great overview of the town and its history.

It was a nice trolley route and the self free tour to the Break mansion. However, we were not picked up after visiting the mansion and we did not have the contact of the driver. We called Uber taxi and spent $8 to get back to the ferry terminal. Do keep the contact of the driver just in case.

We really enjoyed the trolley ride and the narration that came with it. Touring the Breakers was amazing. Hard to believe people would have a place like this for just 6 to 8 weeks during the summer. Not too crowded so you could take your time to really look around
