Very disappointed in this tour. Yes, it is one of the most amazing places in Alaska, but you’re crowded onto a ship with 149 other people. This was booked through our lodge as part of our package so we didn’t know what to really expect, expect Seward is a port town and 3000 people invade the town daily. The weather Belmont although it was foggy for most of the trip out. We did a couple breaches of humpback whales, and the rest of boat encroached on every inch of space on the bow. We also saw harbor seals, sea lions and spent 20 minutes at a glacier before heading back. They do serve lunch with your ticket purchase and I would recommend buying the $8.95 cup and refill it for free on the boat. You get more bang for the buck. The gift shop was nice but disappointed with selections. Found a really nice sweatshirt but they didn’t have my size and none in the back. We did find several Christmas gifts for this year. So that was good.

This is our first trip to Alaska. We took one day cruise (8.5 hours) to Northwestern Fjord. We are so lucky: the weather is perfect, water is calm. Our captain Sheri kept a constant look out for wildlife. We saw: Sea Otter, Orca, Porpoise, Seals, Sea Lions, Jellyfish, Puffin, Humpback whales, Bald Eagle.. Our cruse stopped in front glacier and everyone took a lot of pictures and enjoyed the nature view. Highly recommend this cruise.

We took this day-long cruise from Seward to Northwestern Fjord. The route is to sail south out of Resurrection Bay, and then turn north into Northwestern Fjord. We boarded the boat in the morning, and they told us that they were expecting very rough conditions on the open ocean when we departed Resurrection Bay. They said they were not sure they would be able to make it into Northwestern Fjord, but they would try. But they also said that if we wanted, we could re-book for another day, or we could just get a refund on our tickets. We decided to re-book for the following day, which turned out to be a very good decision. The weather was perfect. The cruise itself was really excellent. We had commentary on a clear PA system from our guide, who was very familiar with both the wildlife and history of the area. The crew kept a lookout for wildlife, and the skipper navigated the boat so we could get good views of them. We saw quite a few whales, two separate pods of orcas (killer whales), sea otters, sea lions, a black bear on shore, and many species of birds. There were some birders on board who were quite happy by the end of the trip. We also had pretty close-up looks at some glaciers, and were entertained by an enormous ice avalanche on one of them. And, of course, the scenery was fantastic.
